Video Summary
Dr. Al-Habadi presents a study on the impact of combined version abnormalities on outcomes after hip arthroscopy at midterm follow-up. Previous studies have focused on 2D measurements, but the complexity of the femoral acetabular articulation has led to the evaluation of 3D measures. Abnormalities in aversion can contribute to pain and long-term hip health issues. The study aimed to assess if combined version abnormalities affected patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and the contributions of femoral and acetabular aversion to the combined version calculation. Retroversion and anterversion were examined, and linear regression was used to assess aversion abnormalities on PROs. The study found that combined version did not influence PROs, and femoral version had a stronger correlation with combined version than acetabular version. However, neither femoral nor acetabular version significantly impacted outcomes. The ongoing research aims to evaluate these variables as continuous variables instead of predefined groups.
