Good morning. I should be going to meetings for 25 years and never in my life I've seen a meeting ahead of schedule. I think we're actually ahead of schedule. So great I'm Scott rodeo and I'm here representing the biologics Association And I like to first, you know, thank Jim and Michael Brian and Ken Zazzala for helping I think we should actually thank Stephanie Corona the people who really make this happen the people behind the scenes So so thank you. So this next session here is how I use biologics in my practice Should we have the panelists come up right now and I'm up here We got all the panelists come up. We have a series of talks here All the panelists come up here I'll just mention again that so I'm representing the BA the biologics Association and Ken Zazzala I've made some nice comments earlier. This is the BA is an association of associations but basically quite simply that the mission of the BA is to Advocate the rigorous use and study of biologics It's only a biologics an area that has certainly tremendous potential But I would submit to you and in some ways is maybe not ready for prime time I mean the reality is it's great potential, but there is a lot of indiscriminate use There's a lot of unproven therapies and our goal is to kind of go through this a little bit here I just put this in I saw this recently plenty of chairs Brian I Saw this an orthopedic say just last week It's kind of interesting that survey from the AOSSM over, you know, 70% of surgeons increasing the use of biologics Interestingly 24% advertiser use which is a bit scary. So in this session here, we're going to go through Our talks on kind of individual type of how they use biologics in their practice Certainly, we know there is a plethora of preclinical data on biologics that's available here You know PRP and cell-based therapies and things like that the Our challenges clinicians is to translate this laboratory data into treatment options for our patients You know, how do we how do we apply this laboratory data and this preclinical data to our patients what orthobiologic treatments? Is optimal for different tissues? Now, what do we actually use in our own patients? And so that's the we're gonna try to go through here this morning So we'll have some talks here that kind of goes through Biologic augmentation approaches for the following for this is part hard to see these slides here tendinopathy meniscus And be helpful Yeah with all the different tissues tendon meniscus cartilage you'll hear at all muscle rotator cuff osteoarthritis, you know, etc, etc You'll hear some important information about Corona regulatory environment. We have Scott Bruder here He's got a lot of expertise in this area teaches how to stay out of trouble practical information about billing I'll start by saying here. I'll just get this kind of set the stage for my own use of biologics I'll just put this out for the panel for the audience to kind of thank you. That's we can see actually now to Kind of set the stage or I will use PRP for treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis. I don't think Lucas a rich report is the important issue I think it's a number plate. So I'll use a high plate that yield PRP for neo a I will use similar PRP or bone marrow aspirate for On occasion for revision rotator cuff repair or the massive rotator cuff tear Similarly for augmentation of meniscus repair on occasion meniscus root repairs I will use a Lucas. I rich can high play the count PRP also on occasion for tendinopathy Lastly we have two ongoing cell therapy studies at HSS to the example of think the trials that we need to try to do Both are in rotator cuff repair one is using it's under an investigational device exemption using Trombo vascular fraction from adipose tissue Using enzymatic digestion for rotator cuff repair and the second is under an IND investigational new drug using gene modified Human umbilical vein cells also in rotator cuff repair. I'm sure we presented that two days ago here at the meeting So with that, let's let's jump right in and our first speaker here is Scott Bruder
