Video Summary
Elisabetta Kohn presents an early clinical-study case involving a highly active 32-year-old man with an osteochondral lesion, severe cartilage loss, and prior surgery and bone grafting. He was treated with two osteochondral plugs. Follow-up MRIs showed cartilage coverage developing by six months and nearing completion at one year. Over time, bone progressively grew into and matured within the implants; by five years, nearly all of the bony portion was filled with mature bone. Kohn is awaiting the patient’s eight-year MRI to see how the implants have changed.
