Video Summary
Dr. Aaron Barrow's study examined whether adding remplissage to arthroscopic labral repair reduces recurrent instability in patients with on-track Hill-Sachs lesions. Analyzing 12-50-year-olds, the study found significantly fewer dislocations in the remplissage group, despite greater bone loss severity. Subgroup analysis revealed contact athletes and "near-track" lesions (small distance to dislocation) benefited most, with recurrence dropping from 67% to 4% in contact athletes with near-track lesions. Although overall patient outcomes did not differ, those high-risk groups showed improved scores with remplissage. The study suggests remplissage may expand its role beyond off-track lesions to selected high-risk on-track cases.
