Considerations and Challenges in Revision ACL Reconstruction

Upon completion, participants should be able to:

  • Define strategies for management of femoral and tibial bone loss and/or malpositioned tunnels in revision ACL reconstruction, including one- versus two-staged approaches and alternative graft sources (e.g. quadriceps, contralateral patellar tendon, iliotibial band).
  • Understand common indications and preferred techniques for a lateral extra-articular procedure in the treatment of primary or revision ACL reconstruction.
  • Critically evaluate the role and technical pearls for periarticular osteotomy of the knee for the treatment of revision ACL reconstruction.
