Current Controversies in the Management of the Throwing Athlete

Upon completion, participants should:

  • Understand treatment of complex shoulder and elbow pathology in throwing athletes.
  • Review the benefits of UCL repair versus reconstruction in pitchers.
  • Be able to describe the biomechanical implications of the windmill pitch and subsequent risk for shoulder injuries in softball players.
