Stress Management & Work Life Balance
Practice Management Module Description
This module focuses on avoiding burnout and maintaining physician wellness, managing stress as a sports medicine surgeon, effective strategies for work life integration, and incorporating wellness strategies into the work environment.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of the instructional course, the participants should be able to:
  1. Define 3 components of basics of burnout, identify risk factors for burnout among orthopaedic surgeons and identify how to maintain a positive energy balance
  2. Understand how to handle competing priorities, better time management, delegate and define priorities
  3. Strategize effectively for inclusion of family in work related events, where possible
  4. Promote positive mental health interventions, and seeking mental health specialists if needed
