2022 AANA/RJOS Specialty Day Description
From the paper and video presentations addressing knee, shoulder and hip surgery, to timely clinical dilemmas and the AANA Innovations and Diversities Lectures, we're bringing the learning straight to you this year.

Despite continuous advances, musculoskeletal disorders and injuries are on the rise. While some areas require further research to improve outcomes, other areas have established best-practice patterns, but struggle with implementation. Orthopaedic Surgeons are a critical part of the team leading the way to address these issues. Education is key to improvements in musculoskeletal care. The 2022 Specialty Day program features didactic presentations that provide opportunities to share important research findings and serve as a review of core musculoskeletal topics, highlighting the latest advances and reinforce time-tested tools aimed at preventing and addressing musculoskeletal care.
Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:

  • Articulate the risk factors, diagnosis and treatment for knee ligament and ACL repair
  • Describe the various approaches to meniscal repair including allografts, implantation, biologics, etc.
  • Relate risk factors and techniques for correction of issues with patellofemoral.
  • Determine the appropriate approaches to hip issues including FAI and hamstring and how to incorporate hip outcomes into your practice.
  • Provide an overview of issues regarding diversity in the field of orthopaedic surgery, approaches to the female athlete, etc.
  • Outline shoulder issues including instability, rotator cuff repair, etc. and the various treatments available for correction and/or
