This course reviews practical information and technical tips for surgeons treating proximal hamstring injuries. Case presentations highlight decision-making skills and solutions to common challenging problems.

At the conclusion of this educational activity participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the presentation, symptoms, physical exam features, and radiographic imaging of proximal hamstring injuries
  2. Review and apply proximal hamstring surgical anatomy and biomechanics and discuss treatment options, non-operative as well surgical, for partial hamstring tendon tears and complete tendon ruptures
  3. Discuss and compare the pearls and pitfalls of open vs arthroscopic surgical approaches
