ICL 306: Avoiding Complications in Patellofemoral Instability Surgery: MPFL Reconstruction
Target Audience
The primary target audience of the Arthroscopy Association of North America is members and non-members who desire to improve their arthroscopic knowledge and skills. Secondary audiences include international members, residents/fellows and other allied health professionals.
Statement of Need
The need for this internet enduring activity has been determined based on identifying professional practice gaps, review of previous meeting evaluations and the AANA Self Assessment. The educational content was developed based on current issues and topic trends provided by the Arthroscopy Association of North America’s (AANA) leadership and membership.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational activity participants will be able to:

1. Identify the indications for MPFL reconstruction, tibial osteotomy or both.
2. Determine the risks associated with MPFL reconstruction and anatomic fixation points and how to assess them.
3. Classify the risks associated with tubercle ostemtomy and how to avoid them.
