The study found that tenotomy had a higher incidence of Popeye deformity and male gender was a significant factor for satisfaction and appearance of the deformity. Age and BMI were not predictive. Tenodesis may be more suitable for younger patients to avoid dissatisfaction with the Popeye appearance.
